Mike Flanagan, the creative mind behind The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, reveals what it takes for a third season.
The Haunted Hill House Creator Mike Flanagan reveals the terms required for season three. Flanagan, along with his production partner Trevor Macy, is responsible for producing the critically acclaimed Netflix series and its successor. The haunted Bly Manor. Both shows are about powerful ghost stories based on the idea of human trauma and remorse. The haunted one The series has been recognized for its acting, directing, production values, and general storytelling.
Based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, The Haunted Hill House alternates between two timelines that follow five siblings and their Hill House experiences that follow them into adulthood. Flanagan’s follow-up series, The haunted Bly Manor, is also based on a piece of literature that is an adaptation of the novella by Henry James, The rotation of the screw. Like its predecessor Bly Manor tells a non-linear narrative that tells the events of an American au pair with two children and their experiences in a haunted mansion. Flanagan shared similar topics and sources of material and appears to have outlined what a third season would require.
Speak with EW, Flanagan reveals that for season 3 of The haunted one To make series, he and Macy had to find the right literature to build on. While there is unfortunately nothing in the works at the moment, Flanagan goes on to explain that a third season is possible if that one condition is met. Check out Flanagan’s quote below:
“When the stars are so aligned that we decide to go back to that Haunting World, there would have to be so much on the track that we set up, “said Flanagan.” It would have to be with the right piece of IP, it would have to be with the right ghost-oriented story and that would have to really fit Bly and Hill house. “
Flanagan states that not just any piece of literature would do, as it would have to be both the right story and the right fit Bly Manor and Hill house. As already mentioned, both Bly Manor and Hill house share similar topics that focus on ghosts arising from human trauma and remorse. In order for Flanagan to consider doing a third season of the series, he would have to find the right literary work that explores the same ideas.
While fans of the news that a third season of The haunted one Series is not currently in progress, they can rest a little knowing that Flanagan and his team are keeping all options open. However, it may not be that easy to find the right literature for the next season. Until that book is found, fans can look forward to Flanagan’s new supernatural horror Netflix series. midnight fairdebuting worldwide on September 24th.
