After the first Thor Film offered a formulaic origin story and Thor: The dark world Taika Waititi has set up shop in generic cookie cutter territory to bring new life to the God of Thunder MCU solo series THOR: Ragnarok. By bringing a healthy dose of humor to the franchise, Waititi turned Thor from one of the least popular Avengers to one of the most popular.

The cast of THOR: Ragnarok is filled with heavy hitters who have hit the comedic tone of the threequels, from familiar faces like Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo to Marvel newbies like Jeff Goldblum and Cate Blanchett.

In Ragnarok, Waititi had a lot of fun with their sibling rivalry, especially in the “Get Help!” Scene. Although he’s primarily a revered dramatic actor, Tom Hiddleston has the comedic supplies in Ragnaroklike “I’ve been falling for 30 minutes!”

5 Jeff Goldblum – Jurassic Park (8.1)

With Hela and Surtur who are the physically intimidating side of. handle THOR: Ragnaroks villain, Jeff Goldblum was free to hilariously screw it up in the role of Grand Master.

The highest rated Goldblum film on IMDb is Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, in which he starred alongside Sam Neill and Laura Dern as one of the scientific minds who refuse to endorse the title dinosaur zoo on the grounds that it is extremely unsafe. This is the film that catapulted Goldblum and his co-stars into the A-list.

4th Cate Blanchett – The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (8.9)

The MCU is often accused of having a “bad guy problem” but is one of the few bad guys in the franchise to be widely acclaimed THOR: Ragnarok‘s Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. Blanchett plays the role like a gloriously exaggerated Disney villain.

Blanchett’s top rated film on IMDb is The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the final chapter of Peter Jackson’s fantasy epic that still holds the record for most Oscar wins for a single film.

3 Mark Ruffalo – Avengers: Infinity War (8.4)

Besides being the best Thor Film in the MCU, Ragnarok is probably what fans will ever get closest to seeing a Mark Ruffalo Hulk movie. The gladiatorial sequences on Sakaar were heavily influenced by the comic book story “Planet Hulk”.

2 Anthony Hopkins – The Silence of the Lambs (8.6)

Anthony Hopkins only briefly repeats his role as Odin in THOR: Ragnarok. Thor and Loki find him hiding in Norway and he promptly dies. But only in this one scene does Hopkins fit in perfectly with the comedic tone of the film. He later returns in a vision in Thor’s head to inspire him with his hysterical “God of Hammers” line.

Unsurprisingly, the highest-rated Hopkins film on IMDb The silence of the Lambs, the only horror film to win an Oscar for best picture. Hopkins himself was cast in the role of cannibalistic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter honored as best actor.

1 Taika Waititi – Avengers: Endgame (8.4)

Besides directing THOR: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi also appears in the film as Korg. With his dry sense of humor and lovable warmth, the rock monster is a typical Waititi character.

Waititi repeated his role as Korg in Endgame, revealing that he was one of the few survivors of the Black Order’s attack on the Asgardian rescue ship in. was Infinity war. Korg falls on Thor’s couch and plays Fourteen days around the clock when Rocket and the Hulk arrive to recruit Odinson for Time Heist.
