Shang-Chi & Iron Fist fight scene comparison video shows big differences

New video compares the big differences in quality and skill in the fight scenes for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Netflix’s Iron Fist.

A new video shows some big differences between the martial arts Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings and Danny Rand on Netflix Iron fist. With Shang-Chi Fans have been dominating the box office lately, checking out the other martial arts-heavy entries on the MCU. Apparently, Danny Rand aka Iron Fist didn’t live up to expectations for a character supposed to be one of the best martial arts fighters in Marvel Comics.

To be fair Iron fist was a television series on a tighter budget. However, over the years there have been many rumors about the limited effort Finn Jones put into his choreography. In fact, fans praised Jessica Henwick for her role as Colleen Wing in Iron fist for how much work she put into her martial arts training and how much better her fight scenes looked.

This week, Twitter users Charles Villanueva released a video comparing the huge differences in quality and skill in the fight scenes for Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings and Netflix Iron fist. The video uses slow motion and humorous sound effects to emphasize Finn Jones’ sloppiness in Iron fist. And of course, Jones’ performance only looks worse compared to Simu Liu, who nailed all of his action scenes. Check out the video below:

To the Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, the difference is likely to be in who they cast as the title character. Liu wanted the role and was ready to take the job, knowing the difference it could make to both his career and being the first Asian-run film in the MCU. He was so determined to be Shang-Chi that he even went on Twitter and asked for his cast when the film’s development began.

For many fans, Simu Liu see successfully on the screen in Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings is a sign that passionate creatives and actors can really take projects to the next level. Finn Jones’ work ethic rumors add to that because what landed on screen just wasn’t that impressive. Hopefully more movies and TV shows will follow suit Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings and take the time to find actors like Liu who are really dedicated to their roles.
